Police Chief Steven Husak said officers made three drunken-driving arrests during the crackdown. In addition, Husak said, nine seat belt citations were written. Lake Zurich police joined forces with other state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the Illinois St. Patrick's Day crackdown. It was funded by federal traffic safety money through the Illinois Department of Transportation's Division of Transportation Safety and is part of the statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket" campaigns.
