Children's author Sally Walker visits Schaumburg library

Children and their families are invited to meet author Sally Walker from 4 to 5 p.m. Monday, April 6, in the Rasmussen South Room of the Schaumburg Township District Library, 130 S. Roselle Road in Schaumburg.

Walker is the author of more than 50 nonfiction books, including "Fossil Fish Found Alive," "Written in Bone" and "Blizzard of Glass."

Her newest title is "Winnie: The True Story of the Bear Who Inspired Winnie-the-Pooh." In this book, Walker relates the story of the veterinarian who found an orphaned bear during World War I, and how that cub became one of the most famous bears in literature.

Attendees will learn about writing, research and the publishing process. A book sale and signing will be included. No registration is required.
