Dundee-Crown 8, Harlem 5: Brett Johnson was 2-for-3 with a triple and 2 RBI and Jared Ludwig had a double and 2 RBI to lead the Chargers (4-1) to a nonconference win. Michael Cruse (2-for-4, RBI), Riley Alvarado (2B, RBI) and Danny Denz (RBI) also contributed for D-C. Jimmy Lewandowski picked up the win, going 4⅓ innings. Nathan Nash came on for the save.

St. Edward 4, ICCP 2: Patrick Costello was 2-for-3 with a home run and 3 RBI to lead the Green Wave (2-1, 2-0) to a Metro Suburban West win over IC Catholic. Jack Tierney added a double and an RBI for St. Edward. Alex Lara picked up the complete game win, striking out 12, walking 3 and allowing just 4 hits.

Burlington Central 8, Perrysburg (OH) 6: John Murphy went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Avery Moore drove in 2 runs to lead Burlington Central (5-1) to a win in Cocoa Beach, Fla. Tanner Smith, Max Judnic, Craig Schuring, Jonny Frederickson and Ryan Gannon also drove in runs for the Rockets. Kevin Jerger was the winning pitcher and Parker Boron registered the save.

Marian Central 9, Hampshire 2: Austin Luchman had a double and Michael Kruse drove in a run for Hampshire (3-1) in this nonconference loss. Alex Crinigan was the losing pitcher.

Conant 8, Streamwood 2: Zach Campbell was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Adam Sojda drove in a run for the Sabres (0-3) in their nonconference loss. Campbell was also the losing pitcher.

Cary-Grove 5, Rockford Boylan 5: Tyler Pennington (2-for-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Matt Sutherland (2B), Wyatt Mascarella (2-for-4), Jimmy Perkins (RBI) and George Hartke (2B) led the Cary-Grove offense in this nonconference tie. Perkins, Shane Barlas and Mark Smith all pitched for the Trojans (3-4-2).
