Believe Project: $100 for middle schoolers learning about empathy to give to others in need

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Ann MacDonald of Batavia.

Here is an excerpt of her suggestion:

"I am a paraprofessional at Rotolo Middle School in Batavia. I work with a really great group of 10 seventh- and eighth-graders. We have been discussing the concept of empathy and are trying to 'put ourselves in other's shoes.' I would like to make this important concept come to life for these kids by asking them to research various local charities, select one as a class, and then donate $100 to it. This is where you come in! I would like the kids to see just how much impact they can have in their community, and your $100 gift from The Believe Project will do that superbly."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
