The issue is limiting president's authority

In Mr. Obama's case, he refuses to compromise with the Republicans because of his enormous ego as another one of your heroes did not so many years ago.

Yes, that would be Bill Clinton. Mr. Boehner invited Netanyahu to speak in the U.S. in order to rub Mr. Obama's nose in it, as it were. No, the Republicans don't hate the president but they are trying to teach him that he was not elected king of America, just president and as such his authority is limited.
