Aurora police seek man charged with attempted murder

Aurora police said Saturday they need help finding a man wanted for attempted murder after a shooting critically injured another man this weekend.

Police say Enrique B. Jaquez, 35, whose last known address is the 300 block of Pearl Street in Montgomery, has been charged with multiple felonies as a result of what they called a domestic-related shooting Friday on Aurora's west side.

Police believe Jaquez knocked on the door of his ex-girlfriends house, in the 1800 block of Brighton Circle, just after 10 a.m. Friday.

When she answered, he forced his way in and shot a 40-year-old Aurora man in the side, critically wounding him, police said. Jaquez fled in an SUV, which was later found in the 1900 block of Kevin Drive in Montgomery.

Jaquez has been charged with attempted murder, home invasion, aggravated battery with a firearm, aggravated discharge of a firearm, and unlawful use of a weapon by a felon.

He's described as a Hispanic male, 5-foot-10, 220 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes. He should be considered armed and dangerous.

Anyone with information should call Aurora Police Investigators at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000. Calls to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
