Love Is Murder conference honors Lisle librarian

Patricia Ruocco, adult services librarian at the Lisle Library, was the "Fan of Honor" during the 2015 Love Is Murder conference. Ruocco was honored not only as a former board member and faithful attendee since 2000, but also for her behind-the-scenes support of the annual mystery/romance/suspense/thriller conference that draws 300 readers, authors and aspiring writers to Chicago each year.

"Patti has helped enormously with library outreach and either personally developed or helped to develop our well-regarded librarians' panel, in which area librarians lay out for authors what to do to keep their books on the shelves and connect with readers through library programs," Love Is Murder President Diane Piron-Gelman said.

Ruocco is a lifelong mystery fan and remembers reading "The Hound of the Baskervilles" with a flashlight under the covers at a young age. A staff member at the Lisle Library since October 2002, Ruocco also leads the library's mystery discussion group Murder Among Friends.
