U-46 parents wanted to join Hispanic Parent Leadership Institute, African-American Parent Leadership Institute

Elgin Area School District U-46 is looking for qualified parent volunteers to join the 2015-2016 African-American Parent Leadership Institute or the Hispanic Parent Leadership Institute.

Parents of students in elementary and/or middle school are invited to learn more about this program - for parents and by parents.

Candidates must be interested in helping involve more parents of African-American and Hispanic students in district and school activities.

Once a month, for eight months during the school year, sessions will be held to provide training for up to 25 participants in each group.

Informational meetings for interested parents will be at the U-46 district office, 355 E. Chicago St. in Elgin, Wednesday, April 15, from 6 to 7 p.m., and Tuesday, May 19 from 9 to 10 a.m. and 6 to 7 p.m.
