Churches unite to help stock food pantry

Living Christ Lutheran Church and Roca de Salvacion, two congregations that share one little blue church in Hanover Park, partnered with Northern Illinois Food Bank to provide a Mobile Food Pantry on March 7. Forty volunteers from the two congregations helped distribute food and provided refreshments to the 115 neighbors who came to be fed.

The Living Christ community has a passion for feeding hungry people in body, mind and spirit. Members of the church feel it is a blessing and a joy to experience this kind of ministry. The neighbors that benefit from the food donations appreciate being able to feed their kids healthy food, and taking some of the pressure off their budgets. The church plans to repeat this event every three months.

Living Christ Church is located at 1402 Arlington Drive, Hanover Park. For informaiton, (630) 837-2100, LivingChristHanoverPark@gmail.com or lclutheran.org.
