Grayslake Central splits in Florida

Grayslake Central's softball team settled for a split of its two games against Pennsylvania schools in Orlando, Fla., on Wednesday.

After dropping a 6-4 decision in eight innings to Episcopal Academy, the Rams beat Dwight Englewood School 15-0 in four innings.

Against Dwight, Grayslake Central got 2-for-3 efforts at the plate from Anna Jensen and Teagan Truskowski, who drove in 4 runs.

Kaci Snyder doubled and knocked in 3 runs, and Maddie Marshall tripled for the Rams. Brandy Heraty pitched all 4 innings for Grayslake Central, striking out five.

In their extra-inning loss to Episcopal Academy, the Rams got 2 hits from pitcher Reagen Radke. Radke, Lindsay Brust (1-for-3) and Marshall (1-for-4) each had an RBI.

The split gave Grayslake Central a 3-2 record.
