Elmhurst police seek help finding hit-and-run driver

Elmhurst police are asking for help finding the driver of a light-colored Peterbilt semitrailer truck that they believe was involved in a hit-and-run that injured a man at York Road and Fullerton Avenue.

Police said the truck was driving north on York when it hit a 26-year-old man about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday. Paramedics took the injured man to Edward-Elmhurst Memorial Hospital.

The truck driver continued heading north on York after the crash, and police said the driver may not have known a pedestrian was struck.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it is asked to call Elmhurst police investigations at (630) 530-3057.

The DuPage County Accident Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is assisting with the investigation.
