6-year sentence for Rolling Meadows man who sold drugs to officer

A Rolling Meadows man who tried to sell drugs to undercover Lake County sheriff's police officers pleaded guilty to the charges Wednesday, court records show.

Juan Perez, of the 2300 block of Algonquin Road, was sentenced to six years in prison and ordered to pay $3,794 in fines in exchange for pleading guilty to the manufacture and delivery of cocaine, according to court records.

Perez, who prosecutors say has no criminal background, met with the undercover officer at a Palatine restaurant last September. Perez turned over about 99 grams of cocaine in exchange for about $4,900, prosecutors said during Perez's bail hearing last year.
