Zengeler Cleaners Begins Build-out For New Northbrook Store

Northbrook, IL, March 24, 2015: Zengeler Cleaners, the Midwest's oldest and largest dry cleaner, has started the build-out of the company's new headquarters location in Northbrook, IL. The new store, located at 770 Skokie Boulevard, is just around the corner from the current location on Dundee Road. The new state-of-the art, environmentally friendly facility is scheduled to open in mid-June.

"Zengeler Cleaners conducted a worldwide search to identify best-of-class equipment and machinery for the new store," said Tom Zengeler, President of the family-owned company. "The new location will provide several added conveniences for customers, including technology that automates order processing, allowing customers to drop off and pick-up their orders 24-hours a day, 365 days of the year. We also took great care to assure our architecture fits seamlessly into the fabric of the Northbrook community while providing a modern, energy efficient operation designed to protect the environment."

The centerpiece of the operation is Metalprogetti conveyor system. This state-of-the-art process completely automates the cleaning workflow from receiving the order, processing the garments, then sorting, bagging and tagging for pick-up and is the engine that drives the 24-hour self-serve kiosk. Additionally, the worldwide search also identified the most efficient cleaning process available, assuring that Zengeler Cleaners continues its historic commitment to protecting the environment.

The current timeline for completing the build-out is early June. Once the equipment has been installed and tested, the company will relocate operations from the current plant, tentatively scheduled for the weekend of June 13 and 14. If all goes as planned, Zengeler Cleaners will begin operations - and serving customers - in the new store on Monday, June 15.
