Believe Project: $100 to help daughter's friend pay for tuition

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Laura Christensen of Bartlett.

Here is an excerpt of her suggestion:

"With the $100, I'd help my daughter's friend. Chris had to leave Northwestern University because he couldn't pay his tuition. He is a bright young man and has had a lot of hardship in his life. His mom abandoned him and his sister and his dad has really tried to make ends meet. Last year was rough for him, and his family had to leave their home. He was supposed to go to the Naval Academy after high school, but that fell through, so he was thrilled to go to Northwestern and pursue his dream in another fashion. The Navy is going to pay for his education through a scholarship next year, but he needs help now. He is hoping to be readmitted and this $100 would be applied to his tuition. Thanks for considering Chris!"

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
