New Hanover Park public works director to start April 20

Hanover Park has hired a new public works director.

Thomas "T.J." Moore will take the post Monday, April 20.

Moore currently heads public works in the city of DeKalb, where he oversees streets, building inspections and a municipal airport, among other services. During his tenure, the city built a new police headquarters and made significant improvements to water mains, according to a Hanover Park news release.

Moore, who grew up in Elgin and South Elgin, also was East Dundee's public works director and the assistant director in Lake in the Hills.

The father of three has a bachelor's degree in political science and a master's degree in public administration from Northern Illinois University.
