Peoples' Bank joins Dist. 25 for Just Move It! run/walk fundraiser

After a successful partnership in 2014, The Peoples' Bank of Arlington Heights will again serve as a corporate sponsor for the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs and ABC/25 Foundation's Just Move It! Challenge Run/Walk. Last year's event raised more than $20,000 and included more than 400 students from the nine Arlington Heights School District 25 schools among the 750 participants.

The Peoples' Bank will sponsor this year's event, scheduled for April 11. The 5K run and 1 mile walk will kick off from South Middle School. The funds raised from Just Move It! Challenge go to the Scholarship and Grant Fund, benefiting the education of School District 25 students through PTA scholarships and the ABC/25 Foundation Grant selection. Funds are managed by the Arlington Heights Council of PTAs and ABC/25 Foundation which represent the parent teacher organizations from the nine elementary and middle schools in District 25.

Jennifer Banks serves as event co-coordinator for the Just Move It! Challenge.

"We certainly appreciate the support of The Peoples' Bank as it enhances the funds we raise without asking too much of those who participate. The funds raised allow us to assist very worthy students and faculty members," she said.

"Schools are a critical component of our community," said Peoples' Bank President Frank Appleby. "We are more than happy to support the efforts of students, parents and teachers in District 25. We'll be hoping for a beautiful day for the Just Move It! Challenge and hope to see even more attendees than last year."

The Peoples' Bank has two locations with full service lobbies in Arlington Heights, one in the downtown area at 41 S. Vail, and the other that includes a drive-through at 1104 South Arlington Heights Road. The bank has been a long time sponsor of the Frontier Days Stampede, the annual Sounds of Summer Concert Series, Rockin' with the Cops, and is a key sponsor for Arlington Heights Park District events including the National Night Out and Picnic in the Park.
