Mundelein clips Carbondale

Mundelein 14, Carbondale 3: A 5-run fourth inning and a 4-run seventh pushed Mundelein to victory in Carbondale.

Wes Farmer led the Mustangs with a perfect 3-for-3 performance at the plate while Sam Osisek went 4-for-5 and Nick Brune went 3-for-4.

Osisek and Brune each had doubles.

Brune was also the winning pitcher. He gave up just 1 hit in 5 innings.

Warren goes 2-1: Pitcher Sam LaMotte led Warren to a 4-1 win over Grant by allowing no runs over 6 innings. He also fanned 7 batters.

Matt Burch had a triple and drove in 2 runs for the Blue Devils and Chris Mathieu went 2-for-2 at the plate.

Against Jacobs, Warren dropped a 1-0 decision. Andrew Hill took the tough pitching loss, giving up only 2 hits over seven innings.

Warren got a second win Monday by defeating Marion 10-4.

Andrew Hill and Zach Grennie each had 2 hits for the Blue Devils. Hill had a double and drove in a total of 3 runs.

Pitcher Scottie Gordon got the win. He recorded 3 strikeouts over 4 innings.

Grant drops a pair: The Bulldogs dropped nonconference games to both Warren (4-1) and Cary-Grove (6-2) on Monday.

Highland 3, Carmel 0: Carmel made 3 errors in its loss. Cooper Johnson led the Corsairs with 2 hits, including a double.

Cary-Grove 8, Wauconda 2: Wauconda, down 7-0 by the end of the third inning, made 3 errors in its loss.
