Schaumburg Park District golf courses open for season

Schaumburg Golf Club, the Schaumburg Park District's 27-hole championship course, opens March 27 for play.

Walnut Greens, the district's nine-hole, par three course also will open.

"We're excited to get the season started," said Jonathan Parsons, PGA, general manager of golf operations. "The course looks great after a long winter. The greens covers really helped out this year and we'll be in good shape to start the season."

Leagues, private and group lessons, and special events are available at both courses. Children ages 5-14 learn fundamentals in the Junior Golf Program and adult lessons are available for all abilities.

"We have some exciting new additions this year," said Parsons. "Golfers may look forward to short game targets on the practice range, a launch monitor for club fittings and a brand new website."

Tee times may be made through schaumburggolf.com or by calling the pro shop, (847) 885-9000.
