The Waukegan Housing Authority will accept applications for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program waiting list beginning Thursday, March 26, at 12:01 a.m. All applications must be completed online no later than April 2 at 11:59 p.m. Applications will be available online at www.waukeganhousing.com. No applications will be accepted at any of the Waukegan Housing Authority offices. Applications will be selected by way of a lottery system. Applicants will be notified in writing if they have been placed on the waiting list. The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
