Low-income housing waiting list:

The Waukegan Housing Authority will accept applications for its Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program waiting list beginning Thursday, March 26, at 12:01 a.m. All applications must be completed online no later than April 2 at 11:59 p.m. Applications will be available online at www.waukeganhousing.com. No applications will be accepted at any of the Waukegan Housing Authority offices. Applications will be selected by way of a lottery system. Applicants will be notified in writing if they have been placed on the waiting list. For those who have questions or require a reasonable accommodation can call (847) 625-4622, (847) 625-4614 or (847) 625-4606, March 26, through April 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. The Housing Choice Voucher program is the federal government's major program for assisting very low-income families, the elderly, and the disabled to afford decent, safe, and sanitary housing in the private market.
