Schaumburg Park District to host Bunny Bash

The Easter Bunny is expected to be at the Schaumburg Park District's Bunny Bash from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 28. Children ages 1 and older, along with their parents, are invited.

Outdoor egg hunts, moon jumps and a train ride called the Bunny Hop Express will be part of the festivities at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. There also will be concessions. If the weather allows, the event also will feature pony rides and a petting zoo.

Regardless of the weather, the Bunny will be available for photo opportunities.

"We will have inflatables in the Community Recreation Center gym," said Kathleen Benson, Bock Center manager and general program supervisor.

Benson added the event will feature face painting, balloon art and concessions available for purchase, along with games and crafts at the Pat Shepard Center.

"Children should definitely come to the Bunny Bash because it's a great family event before Easter. Lots of park districts and other organizations offer egg hunts, but rarely do you get so many fun activities all in one place," said Benson.

The registration deadline is Friday, March 27. The fee is $12 per child in advance. Day-of registration is also available for $15. Admission is free for parents and children ages 1 and younger.

Registered children will receive a wristband that includes all activities except concessions.
