Day Go Dogs opens in Arlington Heights

Day Go Dogs and Za, a new Italian restaurant, opened in downtown Arlington Heights on Thursday.

The restaurant's name — a play on an Italian slur — caused some controversy when it was first announced, but owner Richie Vaia said the name, and the decor of the restaurant is a tribute to his Italian heritage, not a mockery of it. Day Go Dogs, 5 W. Campbell, offers gourmet fast, casual food including hot dogs, Italian beef, meatballs and pizza.
