Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association elects board

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association welcomed its 2015 board in January to serve the organization throughout the year. The organization recommended Chad Busse of Busse Automotive as the president.

Busse first became involved with the organization when he volunteered for the Bluesmobile Cruise Nights. He served as vice president of the association in 2014.

Busse Automotive has been run by three generations of Busses since 1980. Chad was born and raised in Mount Prospect and attended Hersey High School. He went on to attend college at Northwood University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in business management and automotive marketing. Upon graduating, Busse was hired by Hendrick Automotive Group in Charlotte, North Carolina, before returning home to run Busse Automotive with his father, Mark Busse.

The remainder of the board is as follows: Dr. Lauren Keller of Breton Chiropractic, vice president; Tom Nelson of Byte Me! Computers and Internet Services, co-treasurer; Tammi Anderson of Anderson Tax & Accounting, co-treasurer; Roberta Hamann of Byte Me! Computers and Internet Services, secretary; Marcin Bos of MB Financial Bank, past president; Tom Zander of Picket Fence Realty, director; Chris Gordon of Gordon Interactive, director; Erich Held of Farmers Insurance, director; David Rinkenberger of Chase, director; Chris Bozonelos of Mrs. P & Me, director; Dawn Fletcher Collins of the Mount Prospect Chamber of Commerce, ex officio; Nellie Beckner of the village of Mount Prospect, ex officio; and Mary Jo Anderson, MPDMA administrator.

The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association promotes downtown Mount Prospect by providing joint event planning, news releases, advertising, and cross-promoting of downtown merchants' events. The organization sponsors a series of events, such as the Pub Crawl, Blues Mobile Cruise Nights and Fall Fest/Oktoberfest. Association events seek to bring residents downtown, raise awareness of downtown businesses, foster a sense of community among the downtown business owners, and generate excitement among the residents for future events.
