Schaumburg set to host Spring Break Dodgeball Tournament

Youth and adult dodgeball teams will compete this month for paid spots in this year's national championships during the Schaumburg Park District's Spring Break Dodgeball Championship.

The National Amateur Dodgeball Association's Spring Break Tournament kicks off at 10 a.m. March 28, at the Sport Center, 1141 W. Irving Park Road in Schaumburg.

Winners will earn paid bids to the National Amateur Dodgeball Association's Outdoor National Championships.

"This tournament is going to be a really fun way to kick off spring," said Derek Dvorak, the park district's athletic supervisor.

The youth competition will feature divisions for grades 4-6, 7-8 and 9-12. The fee is $105 for a team of six to 10 players.

The adult competition for ages 18 and older will feature men's, women's and co-rec divisions.

The fee is $125 for a team of six to 10 players.

Team check-in begins at 9 a.m. This is a National Amateur Dodgeball Association sanctioned event. All players will receive a T-shirt and team prizes will be awarded.
