Last month, President Abraham Lincoln and Mary Todd Lincoln visited East Dundee's "Love and Lincoln" event to visit with residents and view a 10-foot snow bust dedicated to him in celebration of Lincoln's birthday and Valentine's Day. Lincoln's face is unforgettable and instantly recognizable, but so is his iconic black top hat. When Lincoln impersonator Michael Krebs of Chicago turned to face the sculpture during the dedication, I thought it made for a fun two-in-one sort of portrait and the reader would have no doubt of who the man was. Plus the flag added a layer of history and a nice pop of color to the image. This photo was originally published in the Perspective column in the print edition of the Daily Herald. From this angle it illustrates the irony in how the new board will eventually dwarf the iconic old manual board that served Wrigley fans for generations.
