District 127 superintendent honored:

Grayslake High School District 127 Superintendent Catherine Finger has been named to receive a statewide honor. Finger is this year's Superintendent of Distinction winner, as selected by the Illinois Association of School Administrators. Wauconda Unit District 118 Superintendent Daniel Coles, president of the Lake County Superintendents Association, praised Finger. "Finger is the consummate professional and an outstanding educational leader both in Lake County, as well as in the state of Illinois. The designation of Superintendent of Distinction suits her very well, and she is more than deserving to receive this high honor." Continuous improvement in the performance of students learning English as a second language, a nationally ranked Advanced Placement program and a vocal presence in education policymaking are among the reasons Finger received the statewide recognition. She and other top administrators from across the state will be honored April 21 at a luncheon in the Executive Mansion in Springfield.
