Speakers inspire in Waubonsie's 'Movement ONE'

Five speakers worked to inspire an audience - in only two hours - Saturday morning at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora during the school's first Movement ONE event.

Based on the popular TED Talks, a series of short, inspirational speeches often given at universities and posted online, Movement ONE was designed simply to motivate and inspire, organizers said.

Speakers from the Aurora area included Allison Sutter, founder and CEO of Living360 Coaching; April Stallworth, founder and CEO of Strong Women ~ Strong Lives; Michele Vaughn, founder and CEO of a nonprofit that empowers single mothers; Michael Mecozzi, a clinical psychologist, author and speaker; and Randy Fox, founder and CEO of FoxPoint, an organizational performance company.

Waubonsie juniors Nick Spragg, Monica Griffin and Mitch Hammond helped plan the event along with Jason Schmidtgall, assistant principal for student activities, as an offshoot of the new Way of the Warrior club.
