I used a macro lens setup to photograph a small snowflake on the orange part of a car headlight. I took the photo handheld shortly after sunrise as a light snow brought several large flakes down. While warming up my car and scraping ice from the windshield, I noticed that the defroster inside the car was making the ice melt and glide down the windshield. I took the opportunity to take some photographs. I used a macro lens to capture the close ups of the psychedelic colors left behind as the ice slid down the window. I did some minor enhancements in Photoshop Elements to create a stronger contrast and better lighting. Angela Cichosz, from Carol Stream
I took this photo in Custer State Park, South Dakota. While walking through a camping area this prairie dog was spotted having a snack. If you're going to take a break might as well do it in the shade. Milton Hoskins of Hampshire
