Nebraska hires Chris Brasfield to oversee walk-on program

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - Nebraska has hired Chris Brasfield to oversee the football program's walk-on program and serve as the primary contact for high school coaches.

Coach Mike Riley announced Thursday that Brasfield would be his director of high school relations after serving on Riley's Oregon State staff as running backs coach the past four years.

Brasfield also will be the initial point of contact with the Nebraska program for professional teams, and he'll help coordinate the Cornhuskers' annual pro day workouts.

Brasfield also has worked as a defensive graduate assistant at Oregon, defensive backs coach at Samford and as an assistant at Midwestern State, Southwest Texas State and TCU.

Nebraska also announced that Kenny Wilhite has been promoted to associate director of player personnel. He had been a regional recruiting assistant in 2014.
