Sentencing delayed for Antioch Twp. man accused of killing ex

Sentencing for an Antioch Township man accused of killing his ex-girlfriend has been delayed until May 7, officials said Tuesday. Michael Shane Axtell, 43, faces up to 60 years in prison for killing Tammy Stone in the bedroom of the home they shared in the 26000 block of West Bond Avenue. The delay was because paperwork required for the sentencing was not completed on time, officials said. Axtell was found guilty by Judge Victoria Rossetti on Jan. 9, of killing Stone in 2012 during an argument after the two spent the day drinking. He remains held in Lake County jail.
