Learn how seniors are targeted for scams

The Hampshire-Henpeck Home and Community Education Unit will meet at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Heartland Bank, Route 72 and Warner Street in Hampshire.

"Why Are Seniors a Target For Scams?" will be presented by Elgin Township TRIAD. Cherie Aschenbrenner, the elderly service officer of the Elgin Police Department, and Lt. Kevin Williams of the Kane County Sheriff's Department will give a PowerPoint presentation and discuss why seniors are targets.

It is a free presentation and open to the community. The presentation will start at 1 p.m.

Refreshments will be served. The hostesses for this meeting are Geraldine Rizik, Claudia Lake and Barbara Janicak.
