Hanover Park man admits attempted unlawful restraint

A 35-year-old Hanover Park man accused of trying to lure a teenage girl into his car pleaded guilty to attempted unlawful restraint.

Jose Trejo-Huerta, of the 2400 block of Leslie Lane, was sentenced to 90 days in Cook County jail, court records show.

Trejo-Huerta, who was also ordered to pay $334 in fines, received credit for 39 days in custody, according to court records.

The 13-year-old girl was walking in her subdivision with her younger brother and cousin when Trejo-Huerta and another person approached them in a car, prosecutors said. The defendant told the girls to get into the car, which scared them.

A short time later, they saw Trejo-Huerta again. That time he pulled up to them and grabbed the teenager's hand, prosecutors said. She and the others ran and the girl told her mother, who confronted the defendant and told police, prosecutors said.
