Arlington Hts. holds bike, pedestrian meeting Thursday

Arlington Heights officials and the village's Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Commission are hosting a visioning workshop on Thursday, March 12, as the next step in the process of creating the Arlington Heights Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan.

The meeting will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Public Works Department, 222 N. Ridge Ave., according to a news release.

The plan will outline the community's vision for bicycle and pedestrian travel and is made possible by a Local Technical Assistance Planning grant received by the village in 2014.

This plan will incorporate current best practices and innovative approaches; emphasize connections with neighboring communities and regional destinations; and address safety, access, and mobility issues for cyclists and pedestrians, according to the release.
