Felony charges filed in Lake County video game burglary spree

Multiple felony charges have been filed against two adults arrested in an investigation of burglaries targeting suburban video game establishments in Gurnee, Lindenhurst, Round Lake Beach and Waukegan and parts of unincorporated Lake County, authorities said Saturday.

The suspects were identified in a new release from the Lake County sheriff's department as Deantea D. Williams, 18, of the 1400 block of N. Berwick Avenue in Waukegan and Monique Greathouse, 20 of the 2100 block of Winter Avenue in North Chicago.

The name of a third suspect was not released because he is a juvenile.

Williams is charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary, theft, theft enhanced, criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools, all felonies.

Greathouse is charged with multiple counts of commercial burglary, theft, criminal damage to property and possession of burglary tools, all felonies.

The two adults are being held in Lake County Jail in Waukegan on bonds of $500,000 for Williams and $350,000 for Greathouse, authorities said.

The juvenile is being held at the Robert W. Depke Juvenile Justice Center / Hulse Detention Center in Vernon Hills.

After breaking into the establishments, Lake County sheriff's police said, the burglars broke open the gaming machines and remove undisclosed amounts of cash.

While inside the businesses, the burglars also stole merchandise and caused extensive damage to the interior of the businesses, a statement by the sheriff's office said.

Information shared between the Lake County sheriff's office and police departments in Gurnee, Lindenhurst. Round Lake Beach, Lindenhurst, Waukegan and Zion led to the arrests Thursday of the three offenders, authorities said.
