Fort Collins, Colorado St drafting agreement on new stadium

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - A draft agreement between Fort Collins and Colorado State University would put limits on the size and frequency of non-football events at the university's proposed 36,000-seat stadium.

The Fort Collins Coloradoan reported Friday (http://tinyurl.com/kvjg6xq) the agreement would also require CSU to pay for additional public transportation and police during games, as well as for street improvements.

The draft of the agreement doesn't list the costs of the requirements, but the university has said $30 million of the stadium's $220 million budget would be for mitigating community impacts.

A public meeting on the agreement is set for Wednesday. The City Council is scheduled to consider adopting the agreement on March 17.

The new stadium would be on campus and would replace the existing facility on the west side of the city.
