This photo of an Amaryllis was taken on February 12, 2015. The flower in the photo was the first of eight that bloomed. The waiting period to see that first bloom was three years, but its beauty was worth the wait. A southerly exposure and a sun filled day provided the natural light to give me the opportunity to capture a vivid subject.

As I was walking through Cantigny Park in the snowfall, I passed in front of this tank. As the snow was falling on it, I had the impression of seeing these tanks making their way through the cold winters of war. The red leaves that were still on the trees helped to add some depth and a splash of color to the scene. I used a flash to capture the falling snow.
