The Cook Park Library is showcasing 145 pieces in the Libertyville District 70 ArtEffects student art show.

Thirty art pieces from the district's four elementary schools - Copeland Manor, Rockland, Adler Park and Butterfield - are in the show, along with 25 pieces representing Highland Middle School.

All the work is two-dimensional with a variety of media, including watercolor, graphite, tempera paint, mixed media and oil pastels.

An opening reception was held at the Libertyville library Wednesday, with performances by the Strolling Strings and the Highland Highlights Choir.

The art is throughout the library and will be on display through April 6.
