West Aurora students help Feed My Starving Children

The West Aurora High School field house Tuesday was filled with loud music, laughter and more than 500 seniors - many wearing red school shirts - and hair nets. As part of the senior class project, the students were hoping to pack 100,000 meals for the Feed My Starving Children organization.

FMSC is a nonprofit Christian organization that ships meals to nearly 70 countries to feed hungry kids.

Students at West Aurora needed to raise $22,000 for the MobilePack event, according to Assistant Principal Erica Kegarise. The students raised $8,000 via a quarters drive and selling the red shirts many of them were wearing.

"For our seniors to do this is awesome," Kegarise said. "They are bonding and making memories/"
