St. Louis man facing drug-trafficking charge in Illinois

WASHINGTON PARK, Ill. (AP) - A 29-year-old St. Louis man is facing a felony drug-trafficking charge following accusations he had been selling heroin out of a vehicle in southwestern Illinois.

According to authorities, Mark Day had 2,600 doses of the drug, $6,000 in cash and three guns in his possession during his Friday arrest in Washington Park. Drug task force members believe he was selling capsules containing heroin for $10 to $20 to customers from his car window in Washington Park and East St. Louis.

The Belleville News-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1zD1u1A ) Day has been charged with a drug-trafficking felony that carries a maximum sentence of 80 years in prison.

Online court documents don't list an attorney for Day. He's being held at the St. Clair County Jail on $500,000 bail.
