Manufacturer summit at Harper on March 4

Industry experts in education, economics, human resources and manufacturing will gather at the 2015 Manufacturer Summit on Wednesday, March 4, hosted by Harper College in Palatine. Their goal: Transforming perceptions about manufacturing careers and continuing to build a pipeline of skilled workers with technical training. The summit is being held 3:30-5:30 p.m. at the Wojcik Conference Center. Panelists discussing opportunities and the state of the industry include Terry Iverson of Champion Now, an organization dedicated to changing the perception of advanced manufacturing; and executives from The PNC Financial Services Group, PM Mold Company, Gonnella Frozen Products LLC and HRBoost LLC. Representatives from Harper College will discuss the resources available to students and manufacturers. The summit, expected to draw more than 50 manufacturers, includes support from the College, Schaumburg Business Association, the village of Schaumburg and Districts 211 and 214. Tickets are $25.
