Man facing attempted murder charge in Indianapolis stabbing
INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - A 26-year-old Indianapolis man is facing an attempted murder charge after allegedly stabbing his sister's boyfriend in the neck as he slept.
According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, officers found a man in a bathtub bleeding from the neck when they arrived at the Westside residence Saturday morning. The man told police he had been sleeping when he was attacked by his girlfriend's brother. He was taken to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Police say the suspect fled the scene in a stolen vehicle. Police say he then stole a donation jar containing $30 from a gas station and another vehicle from a home.
The man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, vehicle theft, theft and vandalism.
He's being held in the Marion County Jail.
