US Paralympians share tips at track clinic in Vernon Hills
VERNON HILLS, Ill. (AP) - Young track athletes have received training tips and techniques from two U.S. Paralympians at a clinic in Vernon Hills.
Paralympians Amanda McGrory and Amie Stanton Day talked about training, nutrition and workouts at the Sunday event at Vernon Hills High School. The (Arlington Heights) Daily Herald (http://bit.ly/1N84DR6 ) reports ambulatory runners and wheelchair athletes of all skill levels attended the track clinic.
Day, a graduate of Warren High School, said she was hoping to help both new and experienced athletes learn more about the sport.
The clinic was hosted by the Great Lakes Adaptive Sports Association.
