Is there a particular issue that motivates you, and if so, what is it?I have been an active library patron for many many years in the various communities where I have lived. I have also worked at a public library for 12+ years. I want to help keep libraries vibrant, useful and an integral part of everyone's life, no matter what their age.If you are an incumbent, describe your main contributions. How often do you use it?Yes. I have had a library card since I was three years old, and I use it very often, sometimes 2-3 times a week.Space is an issue at many libraries. If that's the case at your library, would your solution be to expand the physical plant or make room by doing away with parts of the collection that technology has made less critical? Explain. While technology is important, there should still be room in the library for useful and popular items in the collection. Many people rely on the library for books, magazines and newspapers -- as well as music CDs, DVDs and audiobooks -- in addition to electronic resources. What impact have economic and technological changes had on libraries? How does a library remain relevant? How should its role in the community change? The library should be a place to gain information, whether by relying on the expertise of well-trained staff, from the materials the library holds (either on the shelf or online), or from thought-provoking, informative programming and classes (including classes on technology). What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Candidate did not respond. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Candidate did not respond. What's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Candidate did not respond. If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Candidate did not respond. What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Candidate did not respond. If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?Candidate did not respond.
