We have passed a balanced budget every year that I have been on the Council. The goal for us is to live within our means in other words spend less than what we take in.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?Before we ever pass a budget we go through a process, 1st we start with a Strategic planning session to discuss what we want to accomplish. We then prepare a Capitol Improvement Plan and here we prioritize all projects. Finally we discuss the budget and here we allocate the funds to everything that has been discussed in our planning sessions from projects involving infrastructure, flooding issues, buildings and equipment upgrades, economic development and beautification improvements.Describe your leadership style and explain how you think that will be effective in producing effective actions and decisions with your village board or city council.I like to lead by example such as always remaining calm regardless of the situation or the topic being discussed even if the discussion becomes spirited. Always make sure the entire board has had a chance to voice their opinion so we can come to a final decision.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Honestly the goal has always been to improve infrastructure and the aesthetics of the City. We want Wood Dale to become a place where businesses want to be and where people either live, work, shop, dine or just relax and have fun.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Continue to provide Safety and services to the community through our Police Department, Public Works and Staff.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Bill Gates someone who made a difference to the futureWhat's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?Respect your family and always walk a straight lineIf life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?Honestly I have a loving wife and great kids everything else will work out as long as we are willing to work hard.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?My favorite subject was math I have always been good with numbers which helps with keeping a balanced budgetIf you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?The same thing my parents told me respect your family and always walk a straight line.
