I feel connected to many of the families and residents of Lake Barrington and understand their concerns with regard to the village. What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.A large portion of our community's tax rates are set by state and county rates. We are competitive with other local villages in regard to our rates. In order to avoid placing additional property tax burden on Lake Barrington residents and businesses, I would seek to promote a balanced and well thought out budget, and stimulate appropriate business growth for Lake Barrington.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns? At present the level our fire and police coverage appears appropriate, however, as the community grows along with local business, it is going to be important to review public safety needs based on the increased traffic flow through the community.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?It is important to constantly look for ways to save money for the families and the local businesses in Lake Barrington. What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?Given the protected open lands, the Lake Barrington Flint Trail, and other conservation areas, I believe that Lake Barrington is an excellent venue to attract outdoor activities such as road races,(which I have actively participated in other local communities), and outdoor charity events. What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?Given the development of the corner of Kelsey and Northwest Highway with a proposed large Speedway gas station, which will be open 24 hours a day; I believe that there may be a need for additional police presence and possibly in the future, improvements to the roads in order to keep traffic patterns moving reasonably. Please name one current leader who most inspires you.My mother has been an inspirational leader to me for years.
