I believe our village has an unstable finance. I would like to be a part of the resolution to move the town forward.What is your opinion of your community's present level of local sales and property taxes? Is the tax just right, too low or too high? Explain.My opinion of our communities present level of local sales tax and property tax is that it is higher than the surrounding suburbs.Rate the efficiency of your town's police and fire coverage. Are the departments well prepared for the next decade? What, if anything, should be changed? Do you have specific public safety concerns?I believe that our towns police and fire coverage is well prepared for the next decade, however it could require more police bodies. I feel that they would be even more prepared if they did have more people on the force. This would help alleviate more officers to have more time off for rest and to be wit their families.Where, if anywhere, could the current budget be trimmed, and conversely, are there areas the budget does not give enough money to?In my opinion the budget could be trimmed at the head department level.This budget could then be utilized for other resources such as establishing a Summer teen program, and have more free programs for the seniors.What's one good idea you have to better the community that no one is talking about yet?I am not certain if anyone else has spoken about the following; but my idea would be that a program where seniors would be the mentors for teens. This would bring connection with students to appreciate and learn from one another.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?The issues that are also important to me as a candidate are the overall appearance of Bensenville and the airport noise for the residents. Bensenville has a lot of land and what I believe is a wonderful location. In my opinion we are sitting on a gem that is not being exposed.Please name one current leader who most inspires you.Ms. Barbara CorcoranWhat's the biggest lesson you learned at home growing up?The biggest lesson that I learned is be helpful and compassionate, kind to one another, no matter if the other person was nice to you.If life gave you one do-over, what would you spend it on?I would spend it on the lower income school district. Thought my life I have always tried to help where needed.What was your favorite subject in school and how did it help you in later life?Grammar / English were my favorite subjects in school. Grammar has helped me in life because it is an on going day to day necessity.If you could give your children only one piece of advice, what would it be?One piece of advice for my children is for them to be the best that they can be.They are wonderful kids.
