How would you manage that?Provide resources to attract excellent faculty, use unused space at the UCLC and more offerings at our regional campuses. Also, review underused programs to use their resources for new programs.Are you currently employed by or retired from a school district, if so, which one? Is any member of your direct family - spouse, child or child-in-law - employed by the school district where you are seeking a school board seat?I am not. No relatives employed by CLC.Is a tax rate increase needed and, if so, how do you justify it?Not at this time. CLC has never had a tax rate increase during my term in office.Community colleges provide many services to a diverse population. Is there a service your college should be providing that it is not, or reaching a segment of the population that it is not?CLC does out reach to all parts of Lake County and offers programs of a diverse nature. If anything, CLC should be offering more dual credit classes through the high schools.What do you think of President Obama's proposal for offering two years of free community college education?Community colleges have been advocating for this since I was president of the Illinois Community College Trustee Association in 2001. We called it the K through 14 initiative. I am glad the President has come on board.What other issues, if any, are important to you as a candidate for this office?We need to finance more financial aid for our students. We need to address soaring book costs and get them under control.
