Lake County offering free measles vaccinations

HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. (AP) - The Lake County Health Department is offering free measles vaccinations to anyone who may have been exposed to the virus at a local home-improvement store.

The vaccinations are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday at the North Shore Health Center in Highland Park.

Health officials say someone who tested positive for measles was at the Menards store in Long Grove from 7:55 a.m. to 3:20 p.m. on Feb. 15.

Anyone who was in the store during that time period may have been exposed.

The measles-mumps-rubella vaccinations will be available by appointment from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.

There are now 15 confirmed cases of measles in Illinois, all in Cook County.
