Gary man sentenced to 60 years in fatal Fort Wayne shooting

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (AP) - A 23-year-old Gary man who pleaded guilty in the fatal shooting of a Fort Wayne tobacco store owner has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.

The Journal Gazette reports (http://bit.ly/1N3Scpq ) Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck sentenced Jamel Coleman on Friday in the death of 44-year-old Antonio Niño last April during a robbery at the store.

Authorities say the two got into a fight inside the store, and Coleman took Niño's own gun, wrestled him to the floor, bound his hands with duct tape and shot him in the head. Niño died later at a hospital.

Coleman pleaded guilty in January to murder and robbery.
