Family Palooza entertains in St. Charles

Children of all ages were wearing smiles from ear to ear Saturday as they enjoyed the Chicago Family Palooza at the Mega Center at the Pheasant Run Resort in St. Charles.

The festival, which continues from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, has a lot to offer to get your mind off the winter doldrums.

The 51,000-square-foot Mega Center "playground" had many attractions, including: Euro bungee, carnival games, an indoor 220-foot zip line, a rock climbing wall, trackless train rides, inflatables, miniature golf, moon jumps, a petting zoo and hands-on educational workshops.

"We really just want to offer a safe family environment," said Pam Hutcheson of AMJ Spectacular Events.

In addition to the attractions, there was also plenty of live entertainment such as DJ's, magicians, strolling and costumed entertainers, face painting, balloon twisters and animal shows.

"This is very exciting," said Jaziel Montenegro, 13, of Chicago, with look of awe on his face after flying down the zip line.

General admission tickets are $8 and give access to the live stage shows and many activities. Premium attractions, including the zip line, cost extra. For more information go to chicagofamilypalooza.com.
