Huntley High School to go bald for childhood cancer

Students and staff of Huntley High School will host two events on Friday, March 13, to cap their fundraising efforts for St. Baldrick's during the months of February and March.

Their months of work will come to a head at an afternoon all-school assembly to celebrate the school's top fundraisers, followed by a community event in the east gym where the hair of several school and local dignitaries will be on the shaving block.

All members of the community are invited to the community event, which will be held from 4 to 9 p.m. In addition to the celebrity shavings, the family-friendly event will feature music, food, and live entertainment.

Huntley Community Radio personality and District 158 board member Bill Geheren will both emcee the event and say "enough" to his scruff - hair and beard.

Others due to lose their locks at the event include Huntley High Principal Scott Rowe and teachers Lana Johnson, Casey Popenfoose, Tom Kempf and Jack Towne.

Full information on events, fundraisers, and T-shirt ordering is available at www.district158.org/huntley-goes-bald.

Questions can be directed to Samantha Schaefer at sschaefer@district158.org.

Huntley Community Radio personality and District 158 board member Bill Geheren will both emcee the "Huntley Goes Bald" fundraiser and participate in the head shaving.
